Steampunk 

Since first opening its doors in 2017, Steampunk has built a reputation for putting on a seriously good show. The bar and restaurant is a whole subgenre of its own, combining science fantasy with 19th century steam-powered machines to create one of the most unique places you’ll ever visit. We’re talking cogs, piping, machinery gauges, antique clocks, post-apocalyptic gas masks, industrial fans and so much more. 

There’s a lot to admire from the very moment you walk through the door, but it’s the cheap drinks that keep people hanging around all night long. Pop in on a Thursday evening after work to treat yourself to a $10 espresso martini. Whether you finish at 1pm or 8.30, you can get your hands on these babies all night long. True story! With plenty of share plates and wood-fired pizza offerings, it’s the ideal place for a post-work catch up with your colleagues too.

Hotel Cavill 

Anyone up for a round of karaoke? For a night of belting out your favourite tunes and catching up with friends over a drink (or 10!), you’ll want to make your way down to Hotel Cavill. Located smack bang in the middle of Surfers Paradise, the iconic venue calls on all karaoke fans every Thursday night, with dinner served from 5.30pm and karaoke from 8pm.

While it’s still got the same pumping ambience on a Thursday night, things are a slightly calmer and the crowds are just a little lighter. Mermaid Beach Bowls Club

The Mermaid Beach Bowls Club is always a good time. But it’s something just a little more special on a Thursday night. Why? It’s trivia night, of course! Every week on a Thursday from 7pm, you can get involved in the action and compete for cash prizes and drink vouchers. The venue attracts a super diverse audience and puts on a really varied quiz, which means everyone will have the opportunity to put their hand up and get in on the fun. From world geography and ancient history to pop culture and music, there’s really a question, theme or topic for everyone. 

While testing all the knowledge you’ve picked up over the years, you can also treat you and yourselves to an epic spread of food. On first glance, it may just look like your standard pub fare. However, the team at Mermaid Beach Bowls Club has really upped the ante and serve some of the very best meals you’ll find around the region. Take your pick from the likes of a classic fish and chips and chicken parmy, or spice things up with one of the many different small bites and entrees. As a bowls club, it goes without saying that you can also enjoy plenty of beverages. The full-stocked bar is manned by an expert team of bar tenders, all waiting to pour, shake, stir and serve your drink of choice. They’ve pretty much ticked all the boxes.
