Alongside coffee, breakfast, and burgers to go, the Gold Coast is developing a reputation as being a beer connoisseur’s dream come true. There seems to be a new bar, restaurant or club popping up across the region every week and each place seems to be just as good as the last.

While there are plenty of different joints to wet your lips on the beverage of your choosing, it’s all about knowing where to go and what places are worth your dollars. If you’re looking to send your taste buds into overdrive and sip the day away on the best craft beer you’ll ever try, you’ll want to make a bee-line for Surfers Paradise

The glitter strip may be known for its bustling nightclubs and pumping dance floors, but there’s just as many reasons to go here for a craft beer – or 10! In fact, these days, they seem to pour craft beer in abundance, with far fewer VB, XXXX or Tooheys in sight.

After spending our fair share of time around the town, we’ve tasted more than enough cold ones to last a lifetime. Over the years, we’ve not only been treated to an incredible array of craft beers, but we’ve also learned exactly which places serve up the best brews and also bring the good vibes, epic food and stellar service to match.

At Wicked Nightlife Tours, we want you to get the very most out of your night out in Surfers Paradise, so we’ve put together a list of the suburb’s best craft beer bars for your drinking pleasure. You can make a toast to us to say thanks later. Cheers!

Read on to discover Surfers Paradise’s top craft beer bars.

Top Surfers Paradise Craft Beer Bars

House of Brews

House of Brews first took the Gold Coast by storm in 2015, when it descended on the scene and quickly cemented itself as one of the Gold Coast’s best craft beer bars. Any lover of a good beer will be in absolute heaven from the very first moment they walk inside. The guys behind this joint have an absolutely ridiculous selection of 32 beers on tap. Yep, you read that right! They’ve actually got the biggest draft selection on the entire Coast.

As well as all the crowd-favourite combinations, they’ve also got some lighter and more fruiter picks that work as an easy introduction to the non-beer drinks. From mango and chocolate to coffee-flavoured options, you’re guaranteed to find something that ticks all your boxes here. On top of that, they’ve also got an extensive cocktail list and epic bar food menu, that includes plenty of classic American BBQ dishes, such as sticky BBQ wings and ribs, burgers, steaks and the very best loaded parmys.

Surfers Sandbar

Venture to the northern tip of Surfers Paradise and you’ll find Surfers Sandbar nestled on the beachfront road of the suburb. It’s just a few hundred metres away from the bustle of Cavill Avenue but manages to hold onto a slightly calmer ambience than some of the joints right in the thick of things.

This beer bar doesn’t just command one of the best addresses in Surfers Paradise, but also comes with an incredible bar team that’s brimming with craft knowledge. Standing at the ready, they’ve got rotating beer taps and around 90 bottled options just chilling in the fridge for you. Many of the menu items are actually small-batch types, so you’re unlikely to find them anywhere else. With a view of the golden beachfront strip and the brew of your choice in hand, it’s easy to see why Gold Coast’s beer-loving punter love Surfers Sandbar so much.

BOB’s Beer

BOB’s Beer is one of the newest additions to the Gold Coast drinking scene, but it’s already made a name for itself. Even if you’ve never heard of the place, it’s almost impossible to miss. Positioned no a corner block right in the heart of everything, there’s plenty of window seating to watch the world go by and an incredible location that means you can’t miss it.

Since opening its doors, the highly anticipated first microbrewery in Surfers Paradise has attracted crowds every weekend with its impressive range of beers on tap and an amazing menu filled with small bites, hearty meals and everything in between. The brains behind this joint is the talented (former) Melbourne brewer Ryan Fullerton and his team, who have worked together to create an inhouse lager, IPA, XPA and a Saison for everyone else. These drops are seriously that good that you’ll need to try them to actually believe them.

Surfers Paradise Beer Garden

Surfers Paradise has been a bucket list drinking venue for people from all over the place for almost as long as time. Since reopening after a multi-million-dollar renovation, the inviting rooftop bar has extended its bar offering to bring an impressive range of craft beers to the table. With a number of locally brewed options and plenty from further afield, the hardest decision will be knowing where to start. Here, you can grab yourself a beer and enjoy the view from the new wraparound deck at the Birdwatchers Bar. With sinkable couches and tables overlooking the tropical palm trees dotted along the beachfront and through Cavill Avenue, it’s the perfect place to soak in all that the Gold Coast has to offer. Did we mention that it’s got adult games like foosball, a life-sized pool table (that you play with your feet), as well as Jenga and Connect Four too? Pair that with the a la carte dining options, and you can quite easily spend an entire night here.
